Welcome to the Blueleo website (the "Site" or "Blueleo"). Blueleo LLC ("we", "us" or "our") has created this privacy policy in order to demonstrate our commitment to respecting your privacy (the "Privacy Policy"). This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you about how we collect and use your personally identifiable information ("PII") and other information in operating the Site and any Services (as defined in the Terms of Use). We hope this information increases your confidence in us and enhances your experience on our Site.
Your use of the Site and any of our Services are subject to this Privacy Policy as well as our Terms of Use. By using the Site or any Services offered on the Site, you consent to (i) the collection and use of your PII and non-PII by us as described herein, and (ii) have your PII transferred to and processed in the United States. Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on the Site or through any Service is a violation of the Terms of Use.

What type of PII do we collect from you and how do we use it?
When you visit the Site you provide us with two types of information: PII you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us and Site use information collected by us as you interact with our Site and our Services. Unless you provide PII to us through the Site or any Service, we will not collect any PII from you.
Registration
When you register for a Blueleo account, you provide us with certain PII, such as your email address, your location, your gender (whether you are a mom or dad), and any other personal information that you provide to us as part of your profile.
Personal Profile
Once registered for an account, you may set up your personal profile, form relationships, send messages, perform searches and queries, create events, and transmit information through various channels, some of which may include PII. Providing additional information beyond what is required at registration to become a user (e.g. uploading a profile picture) is entirely optional, but enables you to better identify yourself and enrich your experience as a user of our Services. We use this information so that we can provide you the Services and offer personalized features. When you update information, we usually keep a backup copy of the prior version for a reasonable period of time to enable reversion to the prior version of that information.
Please note that your name, location and profile picture will be available in search results across the Site and those limited pieces of information may be made available to third party search engines. This is primarily so your friends can find you and send a Friend Request (as defined below). People who see your name in searches, however, will not be able to access your profile information or your Blueleo Home Page.
Event Invitations
If you choose to use our invitation service to tell a friend about our Site, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. We will send your friend an email or instant message in your name inviting him or her to visit the site, and may send up to two reminders to them. We store this information to send invitations and reminders, to register a friend connection if your invitation is accepted and to allow you to see invitations you have sent. Your friend may contact us at privacy@blueleo.com to request that we remove this information from our database
Emails and Newsletters
We may occasionally use your name and email address to send you notifications regarding new services offered by us that we think you may find valuable. We may also send you service-related announcements from time to time through the general operation of the service. For instance, if a friend sends you an Event Invitation, or sends you a News Alert, you may receive an email alerting you to that fact.
Third Party Offers
On occasion, we may offer you special products or services through a relationship with a third party. In those cases, the offer will be brought to you by us and fulfilled by the third party. If you accept the offer, you will become a customer of the company that is fulfilling the offer and we will not have control over their use of the PII that you provide to them when you accept the offer.
We do not share, sell, rent or trade PII with third parties for their promotional purposes. We may however use information in your profile without identifying you as an individual to third parties. We do this for purposes such as aggregating how many people in a network like a movie or a book and personalizing advertisements and promotions so that we can provide you Blueleo.
Other Information
We may also collect information regarding your interaction with other users and your use of the Site and any Services. From time to time we may ask you to respond to surveys or other requests for information and we collect the information you provide. We may collect information from you when you participate in promotions offered on our Site. We may also collect information about you through other methods, including research surveys or information we obtain from third parties, including verification services, data services, as well as public sources. We use this information to continually offer you the most value as a member of Blueleo.
Can you explain what User Content that I generate is viewable only by myself, my friends and the public?
We built Blueleo to make it easy to share information with your friends and other parents. As parents ourselves, we wanted to keep things simple and separated User Content (as defined in the Terms of Use) into three separate categories of privacy: User Content that is viewable only by you; User Content that is viewable by you and your friends; and User Content that is viewable by the public (which includes all members of the Blueleo network and nonmembers). See also Table 1 for a summary below.
- User Content that is viewable only by you
Blueleo Event Invitations
You can use our Site to send Event Invitations to your friends. The Event Invitations you receive from your friends get collected on your Blueleo Home Page so that you can RSVP to them. These invitations can only be viewed and RSVPed by you.
Blueleo Calendar
Your Blueleo Calendar enables you to choose color coded tabs for each member of your family, so that you can view and use either one, multiple or all calendars at once. At present, you can use your Blueleo Calendar in four ways: (i) you can manually enter appointments and events; (ii) once you RSVP to your Blueleo Events, your Blueleo Calendar automatically stores corresponding event entries including the Event Invitations into your Blueleo Calendar; (iii) you can use your Blueleo Calendar to change your RSVP status to an event; and (iv) you can use your Blueleo Calendar to view an "Event Detail" by clicking on the embedded link for that event in your Blueleo Calendar. Your Blueleo Calendar can only be used and viewed by you.
Friend Requests
You will enjoy our Site a lot more if you connect with your friends on it. To make friends on Blueleo, you search for a friend's name, and once you have found your friend's name and/or photo, you can send him or her a request to be friends on Blueleo ("Friend Request"). Your Friend Requests get collected on your Blueleo Home Page so that you can either accept, decline or delete them. Your Friend Requests can only be seen by you.
Upcoming Events
Your Blueleo Home Page stores a summary list of your upcoming Blueleo Events in order to remind you of your upcoming events. This summary list of upcoming Blueleo Events can only be viewed by you. - Content that is viewable by you and your Friends
Non-private Information on Your Blueleo Home Page
When you register with us, you create your own profile. Except for your name and location, filling out your profile is entirely optional. Once you fill out your profile, your friends can see it on your Blueleo Home Page. Your Blueleo friends can also see the following information on your Blueleo Home Page: your Blueleo Updates; your News Alerts; your Blueleo Listings (without the replies, comments or questions posted in response to your Listings); your Favorite Blueleo Resources; the Name and Number of your Bluleo Friends; your Mutual Friends and your Mutual Events.
My Events and My Event Detail Page
Once you send a friend an invitation for a Blueleo Event, Blueleo creates a list of all your past and upcoming events under "My Events" as well as a "My Event Detail" page for each event that shows the time, place, organizer of that event and RSVPs to that event with their corresponding RSVP messages. My Events and My Event Detail are viewable by all the friends you have invited to your Bluleo Events. - Content that is viewable by you and the public
Information That Enables Your Friends to Find you on Blueleo
Blueleo works much better when you connect with friends. Your name, location and photo can be viewed by the public so that your friends can identify you on Blueleo and send you Friend Requests. You don't have to upload a profile photo, and if you choose not to, we will display a default avatar in its place. If you choose to upload a profile photo, your photo will become publicly available.
Your Blueleo Listings
Blueleo Listings enable users to connect with each other by posting classified ads on the Site. You can use Blueleo Listings to post classified ads for: (i) buying, selling, trading or donating items and services including Baby & Kid Products, Baby & Kid Clothing, Baby & Kid Furniture, Strollers, Games, Toys, Books, DVDs, Maternity Wear, Sporting Equipment, Music Instruments, Electronics and Tickets as well as other categories that we may add from time to time; and (ii) finding resources, and services including Babysitters, Nannies, Babynurses, Tutors, Housecleaners, Real Estate or Volunteer Opportunities as well as such other resources and services that we may add from time to time. All Blueleo Listings are viewable by you and by all members of the Blueleo network to give your classified ads the maximum possible audience. However, the replies, comments and questions you post in response to a Blueleo Listing can only be viewed by the person who posted that particular Listing.
Blueleo Reviews
Bluleo Resources provides you with a searchable database of over 5,000 New York City vendors in the following categories: (i) classes for children and teens, (ii) public and private schools, (iii) birthday party venues, (iv) birthday party entertainers, (v) birthday cake shops, (vi) camps for children and teens (vii) childcare agencies, (viii) pediatricians, (ix) community service and charity organizations, (x) classes and support groups for parents, (xi) indoor and outdoor places for children, (xii) kid-friendly restaurants, (xiii) tutors, (xiv) special needs classes, (xv) baby & kids' stores, and (xvi) such other vendors as we may add from time to time (collectively the "Vendors"). Once you find the Vendor you are looking for, you can post a review of that Vendor on Blueleo. These reviews are viewable by you by and by all members of the Blueleo network.

Please note that you post User Content (as defined in the Terms of Use) on the Site or through any of our Services at your own risk. When you use Blueleo, you may choose to post or share with your friends PII, such as your profile, comments, invitations, messages, photos, videos, listings or other information. All such sharing of information is done at your own risk.
Although most of your User Content can only be seen by you and your friends (as shown in Table 1), please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that User Content you post on the Site or through the Services will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users have copied or stored your User Content.
Under what other circumstances may we release PII?
Blueleo is about sharing information with your friends while restricting other users from accessing your information. We allow you to choose the information you provide to friends through Blueleo. Our network architecture allows you to make informed choices about who has access to your information. We do not provide contact information to third party marketers without your permission. We share your information with third parties only in limited circumstances where we believe such sharing is (i) reasonably necessary to offer the service, (ii) legally required or, (iii) permitted by you.
In particular, we may share your PII in the following circumstances:
- We may provide information to service providers to help us bring you the Services we offer. Specifically, we may use third parties to facilitate our business, such as to host the service at a co-location facility for servers, to send out email updates about Blueleo, to remove repetitive information from our user lists, to process payments for products or services, or to provide search results or links. In connection with these offerings and business operations, our service providers may have access to your PII for use for a limited time in connection with these business activities. Where we utilize third parties for the processing of any PII, we endeavor to implement reasonable contractual and technical protections limiting the use of that information to the Blueleo-specified purposes.
- We may be required to disclose user information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. We do not reveal information until we have a good faith belief that an information request by law enforcement or private litigants meets applicable legal standards. Additionally, we may share account or other information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, to protect our interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity perpetrated through the Blueleo service or using the Blueleo name, or to prevent imminent bodily harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents or government agencies.
- We let you choose to share information with marketers or electronic commerce providers through on-site offers.
- We may provide Services jointly with other companies on Blueleo. You can tell when another company is involved in a Service provided on Blueleo, and we may share customer information with that company in connection with your use of that Service.
- If the ownership of all or substantially all of the Blueleo business, or individual business units owned by Blueleo were to change, your user information may be transferred to the new owner so the Services can continue operations. In any such transfer of information, your user information would remain subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy.
What other information do we collect?
In addition to obtaining PII, when you use our site, we may collect tracking information such as your browser type, the type of operating system you use, the name of your Internet service provider, and pages visited on the Site. We get this information by using technologies, including cookies and web beacons to increase the functionality and user-friendliness of the Site and to better tailor the Site to our visitors' needs. None of this tracking information identifies you personally; we collect it for reporting onsite activity in the aggregate. For example, we may want to know how long the average user spends on the Site or which pages or features get the most attention. We may share anonymous, aggregated information about you with third parties.
Advertisements that may appear on the Site may sometimes be delivered (or "served") directly to users by third party advertisers. Third party advertisers may automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also download cookies to your computer, or use other technologies such as JavaScript and web beacons to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. Doing this allows the advertising network to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement in order to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. In this way, they may compile information about where individuals using your computer or browser saw their advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked. We do not have access to or control of the cookies or other tracking technologies that may be placed by the third party advertisers. Third party advertisers have no access to your contact information stored on our network unless you choose to share it with them.
This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies and other tracking technologies by us and does not cover the use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any of its advertisers.
Do I have the ability not to be identified by us?
Yes. If you do not want to be identified by us, you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies and refuse cookies when your browser alerts you to their presence. You can also adjust the settings in your browser to refuse all cookies. If you do not want us to have any of your PII, do not register for an account with us and do not submit any of your PII to on any portion of the Site.
How do we store information?
The security and confidentiality of your information is extremely important to us. We have implemented technical, administrative, and physical security measures to protect any PII from unauthorized access and improper use. Please note that despite our efforts to protect information provided to us, we cannot guarantee that such information will not be lost, disclosed or accessed by accidental circumstances or by the unauthorized acts of others.
Please be aware that communications over the internet, such as emails, are not secure unless they have been encrypted. Your communications may route through a number of countries before being delivered - this is the nature of the internet. We cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorized access or loss of personal information that is beyond our control.
Do we provide links to other websites?

Because we have no control over such websites or resources, the collection and use of your PII and other information by such websites shall be subject to the policies and procedures of such websites and not this Privacy Policy.

Where you make use of the communication features of the service to share information with other individuals on Blueleo, however, (e.g., sending a personal message to another Blueleo user) you generally cannot remove such communications.
